WASH

Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
Access to safe water, adequate sanitation, and improved hygiene is fundamental to human dignity and sustainable development. In Somalia, recurrent droughts, displacement, and limited infrastructure continue to undermine these essentials, leaving many communities vulnerable to waterborne diseases and socio-economic challenges.
Life Initiatives for Empowerment (LIFE) is committed to delivering inclusive and sustainable WASH interventions that strengthen community resilience and promote public health. Our initiatives include the construction and rehabilitation of water facilities, hygiene promotion campaigns, and the establishment of community-led management systems to ensure long-term sustainability.
These activities are implemented in close collaboration with local authorities at both state and federal levels to ensure alignment with national development priorities and strategies. By integrating WASH efforts within our broader empowerment programs, LIFE contributes to healthier, more resilient, and self-reliant communities across Somalia.
