Nutrition
We are committed to addressing malnutrition and promoting healthier, more resilient communities across Somalia. Malnutrition remains a major public health challenge, particularly among women and children, where food insecurity, displacement, and poverty continue to limit access to adequate nutrition.
LIFE implements nutrition programs that focus on prevention, early detection, and treatment of malnutrition, while empowering families with the knowledge and skills to make sustainable dietary choices. Our interventions include community-based nutrition education, promotion of infant and young child feeding practices, and support to local food production initiatives.
These activities are carried out in close collaboration with local authorities at both state and federal levels, ensuring coherence with national nutrition policies and frameworks. By integrating nutrition into our broader health and livelihood programs, LIFE contributes to improved food security, reduced vulnerability, and stronger, healthier communities across Somalia.
