Environmental Preservation

Protecting the environment is essential to achieving sustainable livelihoods and long-term community resilience. Somalia faces severe environmental challenges including deforestation, land degradation, and the impacts of climate change which continue to threaten ecosystems and the well-being of vulnerable populations.
LIFE promotes community-driven environmental preservation initiatives that integrate sustainability into local development efforts. Our interventions focus on raising awareness, promoting climate-smart practices, supporting reforestation, and encouraging the adoption of alternative and sustainable livelihoods that reduce pressure on natural resources.
All our environmental activities are implemented in close collaboration with local authorities at both state and federal levels, ensuring alignment with national environmental priorities and frameworks. By empowering communities to take ownership of their environment, LIFE contributes to a greener, healthier, and more resilient Somalia.
